ACM Tweet Jam Summary Part 2 of 3
We held a tweetjam on the subject of Adaptive Case Management (ACM) on July 15. It is going to take me three posts to get this all in. See Part 1. This post contains part 2 which contains the bulk of the discussion of how ACM relates to BPM: is it different, and how? Continue reading
ACM Tweet Jam Summary Part 1 of 3
We held a tweetjam on the subject of Adaptive Case Management (ACM) on July 15. I have been on vacation since then, and only now getting around to writing about it. What a big task! In two hours 660 posts were made, many of them quite thought provoking. After eliminating the duplicate RT posts, it still came to over 6000 words. So it is going to take me three posts to get this all in. Here is part 1. Continue reading
Adaptive = Designed For Change
Back from Japan, recovering over the long weekend, starting to feel human again…..
(1) Talking about ACM in Shin-Yokohama
John Mettraux (Processi) pulled off an amazing feat getting Japanese BPM enthusiasts to show up at an Italian bistro, braving certain language challenges, for a bit of discussion about Adaptive Case Management. A few people from Oracle, Fujitsu, The Japan BPM Association, and a number of independent BPM consultants with an eye toward tracking the future. Continue reading
Mastering the Unpredictable in Japan
I am planning to hold a “Mastering the Unpredictable” session on the morning of Friday, July 2 in Shin-Yokohama, Japan. This free event will consist of a presentation/overview on the subject of Adaptive Case Management followed by an open discussion on any BPM/Case Management topic. We are still working out details on the location — so check back here — but the date is fixed, so mark your calendars!

Improvising Processes

In Jazz and other genres of music, there is a tradition of improvisation. That means, there is a section of the piece, where a particular musician is expected to improvise a solo. Continue reading
15 Social Requirements for ACM
A lot of talk about Social BPM recently but definitions vary widely. My post on “Who is Socializing in Social BPM?” shows that some see it as simply using social network features to accelerate traditional BPM (separation of thinkers and doers) while other (including myself) see the real benefit in how business is transformed by social software. Continue reading
Case Management à la Appian
A four part series (maybe more???) from from Malcolm Ross of Appian on how they support Case Management. Appian is a product I know well, and can recommend because it is based on my ideas of Collaborative Planning.
Part 1
This post states that case management is data centric. Continue reading
Is Case Management and BPM the same?
Sandy Kemsley gave this presentation on BPM and Case Management hosted by Pega Systems.
Started by saying the Case Management is a hot topic. Lot of talk about structured proceses is for BPM, and unstructured for dynamic BPM or case management. But the truth is that many work situations need both. Continue reading
